Hughie Meehan, known as "Coach" or "Professor"
Hughie, the owner of Inversion BJJ, has been training in the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) since 2008 and has earned his black belt. His journey in the martial arts began over 20 years ago where he trained and competed as an amateur kickboxer. Years later, he studied the arts of Kenpo and Krav Maga. But it wasn't until 2008 when he found his love for BJJ. He began in PA at a school under the Gracie Humaita lineage of Master Royler Gracie and Professors Regis Lebre and Joel Goldberg. In 2016, Coach Hughie and two friends opened a gym in PA where he was responsible for training youth and adult BJJ. Now, in 2020, his passion for coaching both youth and adult BJJ has led him to return to his roots and open his own BJJ gym in Rising Sun, MD. Inversion Brazilian Jiu- Jitsu is under the original Royler Gracie lineage and is dedicated to teaching self-defense and Jiu- Jitsu in the pure and original Gracie Jiu Jitsu style.
